Card Design Technology theme

1.How does the design that you created demonstrate your knowledge of playing card design?

The design that I made demonstrates symmetry which is practical when playing cards so that both players can easily identify the card that is thrown. The positioning of the number 4 and tha club symbol also have a practical use when a player wants to view the number and suit of the card without having to take the entire card out of the deck.

1. How would the rest of the deck look? What would you do for the other picture cards?

The other picture cards would have the same color scheme and would also be decorates with the setup inputs and cables if they belong to the same suit as the one shown above (clubs). Since my theme is technology the other suits such as the diamond would resemble a keyboard key.

1. How does your design demonstrate your knowledge of adobe illustrator?

To give the cards a metal effect I used a gradient. In order to add symmetry to my design I used the reflection tool to get an exact reflection. I used images from the internet and to make them vector I had to rasterize them, image trace them and expand them to be able to adapt them to my artistic vision.

1. What do you feel was the most challenging part of this project and why?

The most challenging part of the project was finding the right images to make vector because some of them would have too much detail that couldn't be transferred into a vector image. I also became a bit dependent on image tracing which limited my imagination and therefore slowed me down.

1. If you can change one requirements what would it be and why?

I would change the must-be-vector requirement because there are more possibilities with regular images we can find on the internet.
